Texas-grown produce gets bigger facility in Edinburg

(4/26/2011)
EDINBURG - FoodSource Inc. has relocated its south Texas operations to a 58,000-sf, multi-temperature zone facility at 901 Owassa.
FoodSource upgraded to a state-of-the-art complex in the Owassa Lakes Business Park, according to Daniel Galvan, CCIM, Coldwell Banker Commercial. The company signed a long-term lease in the free enterprise zone, according to Galvan.
Giving consideration to tropical fruits, Texas-grown produce and temperature-controlled shipments, the new service center has 13 dock doors, six of them refrigerated.
Better customer service in terms of importing and exporting is also expected to be one of the benefits offered by the new facility, which is located about four miles from the company’s previous facility.
The center is positioned to be a consolidation point for fresh produce as it is transferred throughout the U.S., with daily shipments planned to the C.H. Robinson service center in Bethlehem, Penn.
